If you would like to see the screen of your iPad or iPhone display on the screen of your PC for whatever purpose, well, the AirPlay feature in iOS does screen mirroring between iPad and iPhone and other devices like Mac or Apple TV from the same manufacturer, but not on Windows devices.

With the default settings on iOS devices, you cannot mirror your iPhone or iPad on devices running the Windows Operating system. AirPlay receiver is required to mirror the screen of an iOS device on a windows device.

How to Mirror or show iPhone or iPad screen on a PC screen

Follow the step-step direction below to get the screen of your iPhone or iPad to display on your Windows PC.

Step 1: Connect your iPad or iPhone and the PC on which you want to display the screens to the same Wi-Fi network and ensure they are close to each other for a stronger signal.

Step 2: Using your PC, visit the website site of LonelyScreen to download the LonelyScreen installer. Install the application you just downloaded. You can create a desktop shortcut icon for easy accessibility.

Step 3: If the Firewall of your Windows devices is turned on, it may block LonelyScreen from complete installation. You know this is the case when you see a message like “Issue: LonelyScreen is blocked by your Windows firewall”

As an Administrator, you can fix this when you are prompted by your device’s Windows. When you get the UAC prompt to unblock LonelyScreen in Windows Firewall, just click the “Fix It” button and LonelyScreen will be installed successfully on your Windows device.

Step 4: Having successfully installed LonelyScreen on your PC

You can change the default receiver name by clicking on the default name and typing the new name, and then saving.

Step 5: Swipe up from the bottom of the screen of your iPad or iPhone to see the Control Center.

Step 6: Tap AirPlay Mirroring in the Control Center of your iPad or iPhone to search for an AirPlay receiver. After a few seconds, you will see the LonelyScreen receiver on display.

NOTE: swipe horizontally to find the AirPlay mirroring option if you can’t find the AirPlay mirroring button when swiping up from the bottom of your device screen.

If the Wi-Fi of your iOS devices is turned off, you may likely not see the LonelyScreen receiver. This can also happen when your iPad or iPhone devices and the destination PC are not connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Step 7: When you eventually see LonelyScreen on your iOS device, tap on it to start mirroring your iPad or iPhone screen on your Windows device. 

 

How to stop mirroring iPhone/iPad screen on PC

Step 1: on your iOS device, swipe up from the device screen bottom to open Control Centre. Then tap on the LonelyScreen receiver.

Step 3: At this point, tap Turn Off AirPlay Mirroring. This turns off mirroring between the two devices.
